The work of Khalid Chohan

Ideas that become experiences

Khalid Chohan makes things you can hold, wear, open or read: four tabletop games of cards, dice and engraved wooden tiles, an ergonomic support vest, a family app, and a poem.

Four things at three different stages. Two are prototypes, open to partnership before they go to production, one is built and heading to the stores, and one you can read tonight.

01GamesCards, dice and engraved wood

Four tabletop games

One game about traits and relationships, and three built on a twelve-faced wooden solid.

Working physical prototypes exist, none of them in production yet

What's in Common?

Find your bond. Protect your bond. Win together.

  • Players3 to 8
  • Ages12+
  • Length45 to 90 minutes

Roll, draw trait cards that add to or take away from who you are, then look for a player whose core traits match yours. That match is a Bond, and once you have one, the rest of the table can come for it.

A Homewrecker can break a Bond. You either negotiate against the sand timer or flip the coin and let it decide how everything is split. A Therapist card buys you protection. The stronger your Bond at the end, the more bonus points it is worth.

The twelve engraved Climadice faces, from tree planting and carbon sequestration through to public transport and conserving water
Fig. 01.1The twelve faces, engraved

Climadice

The climate action challenge.

  • Players2 to 4
  • Ages8+
  • Length30 to 60 minutes

Twelve faces, twelve climate actions: planting trees, sequestering carbon, painting roof tops white, cleaning plastic out of the sea, composting, restoring habitat, recycling, taking public transport, driving electric, conserving water.

Each face is five triangular tiles held together by micro magnets, and the engraving only resolves once the fifth tile is down. Three dice decide how fast that goes: one multiplies or cancels, one builds tiles or takes them away, and one drops an obstacle, corrects a tile, or costs you the turn.

In detail

The same system carries all three of the twelve-faced games.

  • Five triangular tiles, held by micro magnets, make one pentagonal face.
  • Twelve faces complete the solid, and tiles go down in strict order, one to five.
  • The artwork on a face only resolves once the fifth tile is placed.
  • Three custom dice: a multiplier, a builder or destroyer, and an obstacle or corrector.
  • First player to finish all twelve faces with every obstacle cleared wins.

Each face is one climate action.

  • Tree planting
  • Carbon sequestration
  • Painting rooftops white
  • Vegan living
  • Marine plastic cleanup
  • Composting
  • Habitat restoration
  • Recycling
  • Avoiding harmful chemicals
  • Public transport
  • Driving an electric car

Fig. 01.1The twelve faces, engraved

Homelessfull

The compassion and social awareness challenge.

  • Players2 to 4
  • Ages8+
  • Length30 to 60 minutes

The same twelve-faced solid, built this time around what a person without a home actually needs: food and water, warm sleep, a shower and clean clothes, a greeting, acknowledgment, company, shelter, and less fear, less blame, less shame.

It is a game about noticing. Every face you complete is one of those needs met, and the dice keep taking them away again, which is what the game is quietly getting at.

Deeds, Motives & Virtues

The moral philosophy and character challenge.

  • Players2 to 4
  • Ages8+
  • Length30 to 60 minutes

Twelve faces, each pairing a virtue with the thing that shadows it: Truth with Transparency, Power with Security, Clarity with Control, Competition with Envy, Harmony with Justice, Creativity with Risk.

The tiles are laser engraved rather than printed, so the pairing is cut into the wood and stays legible in the hand. Same solid, same three dice, but the subject here is character rather than climate or need.

Hybrid Vest V5

Engineered for the industrial athlete.

A prototype today, expected to be on sale by the end of 2026

Industrial precision meets medical-grade ergonomics.

  • Weight850g
  • SizesS to XXL
  • Spine15J rated

The vest works as one piece rather than a belt with padding stuck to it. A moulded semi-rigid polymer channel runs the length of the spine from C7 to L3, segmented so it flexes with you instead of locking you straight, and vented so it does not turn into a heat trap on a long shift.

Around it sits segmented high-density EVA foam, shaped to add 15mm over the organs most exposed to a knock, and a lumbar belt on a quick-release buckle. The figures below are from the engineering brief and spec sheet.

03NurPathApp for Muslim families

NurPath

Know. Grow. Live by light.

Built, heading to the App Store and Google Play

One app for the whole household.

  • PlatformsiOS and Android
  • AreasTwelve
  • AudienceThe whole family

Most families keep this in four different places: a calendar app for the Hijri date, a website for prayer times, a note somewhere with the family tree, a bookmark for the reading. NurPath puts them in one app, built to be used by a whole household rather than one person.

The tone is deliberately broad. It is a companion for family life, not a source of rulings, and the inheritance calculator says so on the way in.

04Starry DustPoetry

Starry Dust

A poem about the hope reminiscent in Nature.

Available on Amazon Australia as a Kindle ebook

The Starry Dust cover: a child on a hillside in silhouette looking up at the Milky Way
Fig. 04.1Cover art

One long poem, with the author explaining it as it goes.

  • AuthorKhalid Chohan
  • Published2026
  • FormatKindle ebook

The poem stages conversations. The Night talks to the Day, the Mind to the Eye, Stoicism to quiet Angst. A three-line refrain repeats and echoes, which is the point: these are meant to sound like voices that keep returning.

What makes the book unusual is the commentary running alongside it. The author writes a short plain note explaining what each passage is doing, so a reader who does not normally get on with poetry is never left guessing.

The through line

Different subjects, the same way of working

Chohan Collective is the roof over one person's work: four tabletop games, a wearable support vest, an app for families, a poem. The habit underneath all four is the same: take an idea and stay with it until it turns into something another person can use.

One of them is out now, as a Kindle ebook. One is built and heading to the app stores. Two are prototypes, and this page says so plainly. A prototype is not an apology. It is the point where a maker and the right partner can still change the design.

  • Made to be held

Laser engraved wooden tiles, moulded polymer and high-density foam, a book on a Kindle, a screen in your pocket. Each project ends in something a person can pick up and use.

  • Honest about stage

Prototypes are called prototypes. Nothing here is dressed up as a shipping product before it is one.

  • Subjects that earn the build time

Climate action, compassion, character, family life, and a back that has to last a whole working career.

  • One maker at the centre

Design, writing and prototyping run through the same pair of hands. Making brings in specialists, including the artisans who finish the wooden tiles in Dhaka.
